The rapidly growing elderly population in Taiwan has resulted in an increase in frailty, disability, and bedridden individuals, and the medical care needs of disadvantaged communities require collective efforts from the public. In order to give back to society, the 'ALTRUISTIC⁺Social Enterprise' was commissioned by the "Kind-Hearted Donor" to assist more economically disadvantaged groups in Taiwan. Through the integration of donated funds, the 'ALTRUISTIC⁺Social Enterprise' has donated more than NT$350,000 to assist the "St. Joseph's Hospital" in providing home medical care, home nursing, and mobile bath services for economically disadvantaged individuals receiving long-term care, including the costs of related medical materials, nutrition, wound care, and consumables. Over 144 people have benefited from this donation.

 

      In Yunlin County, the population is aging rapidly, and the demand and burden of elderly care and medical services for disabled individuals in the community are increasing. This donation project will help economically disadvantaged individuals receiving long-term care in the community with home medical care for wounds and nutritional deficiencies, as well as home nursing and mobile bath services for cases requiring nutrition and tube management, and the related costs of medical materials, nutrition, and wound care. This donation also aims to highlight the importance of valuing hidden communities and marginalized caregivers' hard work.

     At the same time, it advocates for the implementation of localized aging in place and emphasizes the importance of preventive healthcare and health promotion during adulthood to reduce future medical costs and expenditures during old age, which is the best embodiment of loving oneself and one's family.
