Mobile Home Bedridden Bathing Service- Easing the Sorrow in People's Hearts
"Bedridden Mobile Home Bathing Service" provides in-home bathing services for individuals who are unable to leave their homes, including frail, elderly individuals with disorders and tube-fed bedridden patients. The vehicle is equipped with specialized equipment, and a professional team provides bathing services while also connecting socially marginalized households with social resources and health education for the primary caregiver. As a result, the project has directly benefited over thousand service recipients, and potentially even more individuals who have received its services.
This international project aiming to transform society through service and integrate social resources to establish sustainable development goals for Taiwan! Taiwan faces issues such as an aging population, declining birth rates, wealth inequality, and insufficient social resources. The long-term care needs of the disabled population continue to grow, especially the need for bedridden or disabled individuals to receive bathing and hygiene assistance. Through the Home Care Bathing Program and the integration of comprehensive health care and medical services, we aim to enhance the service coverage for the disabled population in the community, ultimately contributing to the well-being and happiness of our citizens.
The largest service team in the country, acting as "home angels" in various rural areas across the province, assists long-term bedridden individuals, vulnerable groups, elderly individuals living alone, and those with medical tubes in fulfilling their wish to bathe and get a good night's sleep after months or even years of being unable to do so. In Taiwan's aging society, how do they establish "pseudo-family" relationships filled with laughter and tears? How do they accompany these individuals on their final journey in life? Going wherever there is a need is not just a belief but a commitment to an ideology. The sustainability of these services brings about transformative changes in the lives of families and vulnerable individuals. This project serves nearly 3,000 disadvantaged individuals annually, bringing comfort to people's lives.
'ALTRUISTIC+ Social Enterprise' is comprised of community-minded professionals with frontline practical and international experience in large-scale projects. We strive to create sustainable services and have a tangible impact on projects by collecting information on local community needs, conducting pre- and post-activity evaluations, and assessing the impact on the community. Through a partnership with Rotary International, we seek out new ways to translate our expertise into making a difference. By working together, our ultimate goal is to create a happy society for all in Taiwan.
